Full Description

04:30 AM

Morning Pickup & Drive to Cusipata

We’ll start your day early by picking you up directly from your hotel in Cusco. We board our private tourist transport and drive south through the beautiful Southern Valley. Our first stop is the small town of Cusipata, where we gather at a local restaurant to enjoy a hot, energizing breakfast.

08:00 AM

Journey Through Layo to the Trailhead

Following breakfast, our journey continues further south for about 2 hours and 40 minutes. We cross through Sicuani and enter the picturesque district of Layo, a rustic village widely famous for its colossal blue lagoon and high-quality trout fishing. The drive offers close views of rural Andean life before arriving at the mountain trailhead.

11:00 AM

The Trek to Pallay Punchu Peak (Apu T’acllo)

We begin our hike up toward the main viewpoint, which takes approximately 1.5 hours of steady walking. While the trail is short, the high altitude makes some uphill sections feel challenging. Don’t worry—our expert guide will set a comfortable pace and assist you every step of the way.

Once we reach the summit ridge, a spectacular, sharp panorama of Pallay Punchu (The Crimson Poncho Mountain) will open before us. Its serrated formation resembles incredible waves of colored soil cascading into the horizon.

01:30 PM

Descent & Traditional Buffet Lunch

After taking ample time to explore the crest, take stunning photos, and absorb the powerful energy of Apu T’acllo, we begin our descent along the same path. Our private transport will be waiting at the base to take us to our restaurant for a well-deserved, hot buffet lunch featuring delicious Peruvian dishes.

06:30 PM

Return Arrival in Cusco City

After an inspiring day of hiking through these newly discovered landscapes, we head back to the city. Our vehicle drops you off safe and sound near your hotel accommodation in Cusco, ready for a good night’s rest.
