Hotel Pickup & The Historic Center
Our journey begins with a smooth pickup directly from your hotel downtown (or a central meeting point depending on the chosen schedule). We start right in the Plaza de Armas to step inside the spectacular Cusco Cathedral. Here, we’ll discover a world-class collection of colonial art from the famous Cusco School, including intricate wood carvings, massive silver altars, and unique local adaptations of European history.
The Golden Temple of Qorikancha
Next, we walk or drive a short distance to reach the legendary Temple of Qorikancha, also known as the Convent of Santo Domingo. This site was the primary religious hub of the entire Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God. Your guide will show you how the Spanish friars built their church over the flawless, earthquake-resistant polished Inca walls, creating a stunning visual contrast.
The Megaliths of Sacsayhuamán & Q’enqo
Leaving the city center behind, our tourist vehicle ascends to the surrounding northern mountains. Our first stop is Sacsayhuamán, a jaw-dropping site featuring colossal stones fitted perfectly without mortar. You’ll have free time to take pictures and explore its grand scenic fields.
