Full Description
Departure from Cusco & Breakfast in Mollepata
This incredible day will begin early around 4:00 AM with a pick-up from your hotel. We know it’s a bit early, but we can assure you it will be totally worth it!
We’ll drive to Mollepata for approximately 3 hours. During this drive, you can enjoy the changing scenery or simply take a nap to recharge. After arriving, we’ll have breakfast at a local restaurant. We recommend eating something light so you can hike without any problems.
Soraypampa & Trek up to the Turquoise Gem
From Mollepata, we will drive another 30 minutes to Soraypampa, the small mountain village where this hike begins. After receiving instructions and getting our trekking equipment ready, we can finally begin our hour-and-a-half hike to the main viewpoint.
This path is a bit steep, but it’s nothing we can’t handle! To make this trip even better, nature will offer us breathtaking views, sacred mountains, and pristine glaciers, showing us that we’re no longer in the crowded city.
Free Time at Humantay Lookout
Once we arrive, we’ll be more than happy to be here. We finally made it! Time for selfies and relaxation; you will have ample free time to take beautiful photos, contemplate the turquoise tones, or simply admire the massive glacier right above you.
Descent, Buffet Lunch & Return to Cusco
Once we’re ready, we’ll hike back down to Soraypampa for an hour and a half. Our return journey will be much easier, don’t worry! After this effort through the mountains, we’ll return via our transport to a local restaurant in Mollepata to refuel with a well-deserved buffet lunch.
After lunch, we’ll take the same route back, arriving in Cusco with our cameras full of photos and happy hearts at approximately 6:00 PM.
